Test de connaissance du français (TCF) You wish to settle permanently in Canada (outside the province of Quebec) and you must have your level of French assessed as part of your economic immigration procedures or obtaining Canadian citizenship. The French language test for Canada, "TCF Canada", is a language level test in French that meets the standards of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). TCF Canada results are accepted for the purposes of economic immigration or obtaining Canadian citizenship. The TCF Canada is made up of 4 compulsory tests. It assesses French general language skills in oral comprehension, written comprehension, oral production and written production. The TCF Canada is presented in the form of 39 multiple choice questions for oral comprehension; 39 multiple-choice questions for reading comprehension, each question having only one correct answer; 3 tasks for oral production, organized by progressive level of difficulty and 3 tasks for written production, organized by progressive level of difficulty, in accordance with the benchmarks given by the Common European Framework of Reference for learning, teaching and language assessment and Canadian Language Benchmarks.
